To all salad lovers out there… there is nothing better than a fresh Caprese Salad on a summer day.
With heirloom tomatoes and basil making their colorful entrance this season, I decided that a vegan Caprese was necessary.
Many people ask what else La Onda can be used for.. and personally I think it makes a bomb vegan cheese. Add it to salads, pastas, soups!!
For this recipe you’ll need:
- 1 heirloom tomato
- Fresh basil
- Garlic La Onda
- Olive Oil
- Raw apple cider vinegar
I began by making a La Onda dressing to drizzle on your salad.

Next, slice your heirloom tomato.
a great guide on how to slice them for plating! You know.. so they come out as beautiful as an Italian restaurant. 😉
When finished, plate your tomatoes and garnish with fresh basil. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the top as well as your La Onda dressing.
Finish with sea salt and pepper.
