This Monday we bring to you HUGE news on the La Onda front.
As of today.. we are now in 22 Whole Foods locations across Northern California!!!
This is a massive step forward for our local business and we couldn’t be more excited to be joining up with Whole Foods. We seem to be counting our lucky stars as this has all happened around our year and half anniversary! Thank you for all of your continued support. We would not be reaching our goals without the help of those who are loyal customers and advocates for local businesses like us.
Today I want to bring to you a favorite recipe of mine. I’m pretty vocal about my love for new flavors and cultural foods. One of my favorite things to eat is Mediterranean foods! I love how fresh everything tastes and the focus on light fare.
I’ll introduce you to one of my favorite salads to make. It’s one bursting with the freshness of tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, and this time around a La Onda touch. Traditionally, I’ve had this salad with a tahini dressing.. however I have substituted it with Garlic La Onda.
Here’s the ingredients you will need:
- 2 medium sized cucumbers (diced)
- 1 large tomato (diced)
- 1/2 cup of parsley
- 1/4 cup raw apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 container of Garlic La Onda
Combine your fresh ingredients together and toss with olive oil.
Your dressing will take a few minutes in a blender or food processor.
Add your Garlic La Onda and apple cider vinegar to your processor. Begin to blend for 45 seconds. Your consistency should not be thick. If needed, continue adding vinegar until the mixture becomes liquid.
I love that La Onda becomes an easy substitute for tahini (which is derived from a sesame seed). It makes it a great addition to Mediterranean food!
Toss all together and add salt and pepper.
Pair with flatbread, pita chips or my personal favorite… Wasa whole wheat crackers!
Thanks for tuning in to hear what is new and what is happening over at La Onda. We couldn’t do it without you.
